{Summer at the Park} San Diego Family Session

Hello! How was your weekend? I know mine went by too fast! We are house sitting and dog sitting for my sister, which is like having little bambinos running around (not completely the same I know, but good practice..hehe...or at least that's what people say) playing with toys, needing feedings, needing walks, etc. So we are doing this all week...I'll let you know how it goes :). 

Today, I want you to meet the Jensen family! They were incredibly sweet, patient, and adventurous! Their kids are amazingly cute...my heart be still :) with those big brown eyes. Ashton, their son, was super shy when I first met him, but warmed up after I gave him a little gift, then Keira, their little girl, was a bundle of energy running through the grass- Love them!!!! Thanks Jensen Fam...I am happy to call you friends!!

{Heritage Park Family Session} Preview

Happy Saturday!! Ok, so I'm in a bit of denial. I am turning 30 in a few days!! 30!!!!!! What!? How is it that time has gone by sooo quickly...is it normal not to feel your age? I remember playing in the mud with my twin sister until only our eyes were visible, wearing roller skates that velcro over your shoes ( soooo cool...seriously!), playing non-stop until dusk (capture the flag anyone?), and my first day of high school (oh gosh! Can we say wanna be hippie!?), meeting amazing friends, meeting my husband!!! How thankful can one person be? Yes, I may be in denial, but am superdeeduper excited for the next 30! I want to do a better at cataloging each decade...what? That sounds weird huh, but keeping a photo journal has always been a goal of mine, so this is the year to start. Anyway enough of my ramblings..hehe... So this weekend is full of celebration and birthday cake!! I hope lots and lots of birthday cake! 

Saturday postings are not normal for me, but I am smitten with this family and had to post a few preview pics of their delightful Family Session!!

I am taking Monday off, so have a great weekend and I'll see you Tuesday with an "UP" inspired session!

{Sloan's First Birthday} San Diego Portrait Photographer

I hope you had a fantastic weekend! What did you do? What adventures did you have? 

Mine was uneventful, but suuuuper relaxing, which was just what I needed. I stayed up super late, like I was in high school again, slept in until 11am everyday. After my husband and I woke up we read on our laptops til we were hungry (which didn't take long), then went to a delicious lunch at the Silk Road Cafe and after the food coma ensued... I decided to take another nap... Sooooo great! 

But on to the lovely Plonka Family! I absolutely adore this family! 

They are incredibly kind, fun, and just plain amazing :)...

They asked me to take photos of their daughter Sloan's First Birthday, which was Lady Bug themed (too cute), then we had a mini family session before the party...

When I said Lady Bug themed...I wasn't exaggerating... Real lady bugs were there to fly. The kids flipped for this idea...

he was sooooo happy telling me the story about Winnie The Poo and his honey, while eating one of the incredible lady bug cupcakes :) Isn't that sweet?
